Meet Ms. Easterling Meet Mr. Howes
I fell in love with St. Anne and the students six years ago when I taught library at the school. It was obvious that the staff, the students and the parents were a close, faith filled community. This will be my seventh year teaching but my first year teaching fifth grade at St. Anne. I am so excited to take this journey with my students.
I was born in Sterling Heights but moved prior to my high school years to Lima, Ohio. I spent two years as an undergraduate at University of Kentucky before moving back to Michigan. I graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Business majoring in Finance. I spent several years working in management but always felt that my calling was to teach. I went on to further my education at Oakland University and completed my Masters in Elementary Education in 2011. I tell my students each year that I am a life long learner and want to instill in them a love of learning.
I live in Warren with my two funny felines, Bonnie and Clyde! I sing in the Contemporary Choir at my church. I work to travel! I have been blessed with many opportunities to expand my adventurous spirit of experiencing different cultures in our amazing world. I love anything that has to do with the local arts and theater, reading, baking, college basketball and of course the University of Michigan football team. Go Big Blue!
I cannot wait to make some memories with all of you this year!
My name is Mr. Howes. This is my second year at St. Anne. I have taught two years at St. Clare of Montefalco in Grosse Pointe Park. I went through Catholic education up until college; I attended St. Veronica and then De La Salle Collegiate for high school. I went on to Wayne State University to get my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in science. I am currently working on my Master’s degree through Michigan State University.
In my spare time, I enjoy participating in sporting and athletic competitions. I run half-marathons, marathons, and triathlons. I coach basketball at Grosse Pointe South High School. I have been there for five years. I used to coach cross country and track in the South Lake District in St. Clair Shores. I am looking forward to having a successful year at St. Anne this year!
